+BudMan MVC Posted January 23, 2011 MVC Share Posted January 23, 2011 yeah if you phones will not allow you to use the selfsigned cert you would have to use a cert that they trust or one that you can have them trust, etc.. Openssl is not all that hard, there are CAs on a stick persay -- here is a CA live CD ;) http://www.dartmouth.edu/~deploypki/CA/InstallOpenCALiveCD.html You have a 2k8 server right - just install CA certificate services, etc. But yeah FTPS is a bit to work with with nats and such, and then again if the phone does not issue PROT P -- your data would still be in the clear anyway ;) hehehe You never answered where are these phones located? Can you not just create a vpn between their location and yours? Or just host their config files on their network so your not worried about clear text ftp across the public net? Back to the GAME ;)
atomicrabbit
sorry, most of the time, most of the phones will be located inside the same network. But there will be certain (albeit rare) circumstances where they will be taken outside the network to various unknown places. EDIT: I was reading about encrypting the actual config files, but I have to get the SDK for it directly from polycom and I read that it was a bit of a hassle.
