aaronalam
Hey, Haven't coded in a longgg time and decided to get back into it with this app. It's a simple directory manager, it can scan a directory for files, bring back all filetypes in that directory (and sub directories if selected). Once the scan is complete you can select a specific filetype and choose to move, copy or delete. Helps keep things tidy! Try it out here : http://www.yourconsole.co.uk/Directory%20Manager%20v1.0.0.0.zip IT'S IN BETA! Please report any issues if you have any (i'm sure you will). -Aaron. Xerax
Don't suppose you could post your recursive code? I really wanted some help with that but my teacher couldn't help me.
aaronalam
For the directory search ?
Prince Charming
Not to try and rain on your parade, but do you envisage any scenarios where this would be preferable from using the 'type:<filetype>' parameter in a directory scope windows search? I mean it's right there, integrated with explorer and will hit subdirectories anyway.
aaronalam
Oh, I know, I already thought about that but as far as I know, Windows search will only bring back the locations. This app will actually move or copy them all in one click, ideal for say, if you have unorganised jpgs everywhere etc.. Actually, what the hell, windows search + ctrl a + copy, cut, delete. How did I not know this, haha. Wow, at least I got back into coding!
whyme
Very nice, but file & directory management is something Windows already does quite well. If you really want to make a difference in the world, make a file & directory manager for Apples. They are woeful in this area and if you could make one that works even as well as Windows Explorer you would be loved.
aaronalam
I can't even think how I didn't realise explorer search already does it all! I guess the excitement of coding made my mind clouded, haha. Oh well and we'll see whyme!
Tomoko
One for Mac OS wouldn't be bad, but I'd love to have a clone of the Windows 95 or NT 3.51 file manager for Windows 7. No bloat, special effects, preview panes and other junk. Just a nice clean and fast file manager. :) Edit: Nevermind, look what I found. :D http://people.ee.ethz.ch/~davidsch/vistafm/
