TheHouseBunny
Kinda like it, just don't like the "firefoxbutton" in the left top corner, is there any way to move next to the back/forward buttons?

A few options for this. Personally, not a fan, so I just went and enabled the menu bar, making it like FF3. Meh just what I'm used to. There is an addon that lets you move it around a bit too, including by the back/forward buttons. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/movable-firefox-button/

FMH
And yet at end of the day IE9 will have the largest share. Raa 1 Share

Yes, there is an addon that allows you to move it to another bar or hide it. Gaffney
isnt 8 million the amount for 3.6? i hope it makes it but i doubt it since we only approaching 3 million and its already 4:30. FFX 3.0 got 8 million downloads in 24hrs. I don't think their really bothered about breaking the record. Also the 3.0 record was when there was little competition, although there are more internet users now, I just don't think as many people are rushing in. I've been hearing that FFX 3.6 users haven't been getting update notifications, if every FFX user got a popup when they started it asking if they wanted to update to 4.0 then they probably could beat the record. The only thing is though they don't want a massive burst of downloads and then have it settle down it would cost more.

remixedcat
Bigger barriers to entry for IE9. Not everyone has windows 7. Vista users have to have SP1, then SP2, then platform update, then supplement, then IE9 (the average vista user is on SP1) (I have server 2008 R1 and SP2, however the platform update will not install.) (I will be upgrading to R2 in a few months when SSD is purchased) XP users (huge share of netbook users) won't be able to use IE9. Thus FF4 has less entry barriers, therefore more downloads. The system requirements for IE9 are Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista, or Windows Server 2008 (with Service Pack 2), Platform Update, Platform Update Supplement for Windows Vista and for Windows Server 2008 (KB2117917)[7] and IE8); Windows XP is not supported.[8][9][10] Both 32-bit and 64-bit builds are available. jakem1
I've upgraded but I'm not a huge fan of the new UI. To be honest, if it wasn't for the extensions I use, I'd switch to IE9 full-time because I think it looks better and feels much faster. I'm surprised it's taken Mozilla this long to produce such a meh update. All IE9 needs is a free ad blocker to match Adblock Plus and I'd switch. Subject Delta
The average IE user just waits till they get a WU notification so this is not all that surprising really

Gaffney
It has just reached 3 Million downloads. I think it was released 8 hours ago ? 7am PDT or around 1:30 GMT ? If they can keep it going at this rate, it might break the record. What time is it in America now ? Europe which is the largest downloader so far is cooling down but I guess there might be a peak when USA goes into early night time. It would be nice if they broke the record, it would probably be good for competition, Microsoft will be pushing to release IE10 quickly and Chrome will be looking to get more customization into their browser. MistaT40
Still like IE9 more than FF4. Also, some posters have already alluded to...there's OS barrier to IE9 while I don't believe that's the case with FF4.
