A good beating appears to fix grinding Xbox One disc drives

Xbox One owner Dave D has uploaded a video to his YouTube channel in which he demonstrates a quick "fix," which is nothing more than a few swift punches on the bottom of the unit, for the grinding noise made by faulty disc drives found in some Xbox One consoles.

Dave mentions that many users on various forums have found this solution to work, which encouraged him to try it on his own console as he waits for a replacement from Microsoft with no hopes of getting it in the earliest.

According to Microsoft, a 'small number' of Xbox One consoles have shipped with faulty disc drives and the company is working to replace them as soon as possible, meanwhile, impatient gamers can use their free game download codes or try out Dave's solution at your own risk of course!

This 'fix' apparently realigns a gear for the drive, although not confirmed, this appears to be the agreed upon source of the issue as explained in the video.

Seems that a good smack is still a great way to encourage devices to stop messing about!
