Another leaked Nokia Lumia 1520 render shows its red color

Nokia may be waiting until Oct. 22 to officially reveal, among other things, its Lumia 1520 smartphone, but that's not stopping the flow of press renders showing off the upcoming 6-inch Windows Phone 8 device.

The latest comes from the Twitter feed of known gadget leaker @evleaks, who has posted up press renderings of the massive phone in the past. His latest leak shows a version of the phone, which is also expected to come in black, white or yellow. The color is very similar to an earlier picture that made its way on the Internet over a month ago that showed a massive Lumia device with the same red color.

Previous rumors about the Lumia 1520 indicate that the huge 6-inch display will also have a 1080p resolution. The same rumors claim that the phone will have Qualcomm's quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor inside, along with 2GB of RAM, 32GB of on-board storage and a 20-megapixel rear camera. The phone will reportedly be launched in the U.S. first on Nov. 8 via AT&T.

The design of the phone itself looks great and the specs are obviously very impressive. Combined with Nokia's record of including decent cameras it makes for a great device. However, they're not doing themselves any favours by showing the UI in high contrast mode as it lacks the refinement seen on Android and iOS devices. And the Windows Phone platform is still more a limitation than an asset.

I strongly considered this phone but I'm now looking to get the Galaxy Note 3.

I think it looks much better with a dark background. WP8 definitely has its shortcomings but things will get better. I'm hopeful that more people will consider it once it gets a notification centre, orientation lock, and separate volume controls for voice and media.

Understandable. Sadly, that's the US state of affairs. Want anything resembling promotion from the carrier? Has to be an exclusive. Another set of rumors say that Verizon will get the 929, which supposedly is the same hardware, but smaller screen (same resolution, though).

I never understand people that say this...
Focus at one thing at a time. It's not rocket science.

You should probably go get that checked out. You don't sound healthy.

Very healthy: 6 foot 4 inches, 2% body fat, 215 pounds, threw up 405 on the bench last week, 20/10 vision, physical every 6 months, strict diet, all this while having a tough military schedule over the past 18 years. To the original topic, those Tiles are hideous.

Not really impressive if a 6 ounce phone is enough to render you dizzy.

Its the way the phone looks. Not how much it weighs.

I know a lot of people who get dizzy playing video games. Doesnt mean there is anything wrong with them. Probably same things applies here.

If you are going to over exaggerate you might want to sound a little bit more believable. I stopped reading after 2% body fat. A typical professional body builder tries to achieve 5-6% which isn't even healthy by the way. The only way to maintain that low body fat you will need a very strict diet and extreme cardio and weight lifting (8+ hours a day). I believe the lowest body fat recorded in history was 2.3%.

Likewise, JHBrown's claimed "specs" (6 foot 4 inches, 2% body fat, 215 pounds) have little to do with whether or not he's healthy or should refrain from seeing a doctor for his dizziness. I'm sure there are guys that 6 foot 4 inches, 215 pounds with 2% body fat and are at this moment dying of AIDS.

He should go see a doctor. He's obviously not healthy.

why do people like you come to neowin to read? you personalize the screen how you want it with the apps you use, and stop finding ridiculous reasons to hate windows phone, its a wonderful os

I know exactly how the phone works. I own one! The screenshot still looks hideous. You can sugar coat it anyway you like.

You think so but that is not everyone's opinion. I like the Android OS, but some do not like it. Doesnt matter the reason behind it...certain things are not for everyone.

3.4% is the exact body fat. I "bulk" and I "cut". I'm in the "cutting" stage. I've been doing this regime for 21 years. There are 2 guys here on base at 3.3% and one at 3.7 %. They are both Air Force PJ's. I hardly think you qualify as a Neowin Nutrienist. These levels are attainable for a short period of time. When I bulk, I go up to almost 13% sometimes.

Agreed Techbeck! What this member doesn't know is that I own a Windows Phone, a galaxy note 2, and an iPhone.

Well, Static images have never done Windows Phone UI any justice.

Microsoft should switch to only using animated renders (gif/swf/whatever). If every windows phone image behaved like it did in real life, the dizzying grid would come alive.

This would enable individuals like you to see that's it's not just a dizzying array of tiles.

I agree

No, but you must be if you think anybody believes your hyperbole.

Stupidity confirmed then. This has been brought up by many people. I am not the only one who has a problem with the dizzying array of tiles.

You must have real trouble going into a supermarket, seeing that dizzying array of boxes and jars on the shelves

Because it's a busy interface.

And Android is less busy? At least Windows Phone's tiles are relatively unform. Android interfaces are chock full of icons as well as widgets. And iOS, well... is just dull 7 iterations later.

they just need tweaks. not a complete make over. you can very easily see how everybody just has a grid of icons. apple and google scroll in pages sideways, MSFT does up and down. I think they should just follow apple/google as users are more comfortable with side pagination than with endless down scroll..

Speak for yourself.
Ergonomically speaking it's less thumb strain to scroll endlessly up and down than it is to page over left and right repeatedly.

Let the guessing begin.

Im guessing a lot of these leaks are really "leaks" from the PR department.
