Samsung's Galaxy S6 Edge+ or Note 5 won't be offered in a 128GB configuration

For those that were hoping that Samsung might announce a 128GB model of the Galaxy S6 Edge+ or Note 5, your hopes may be dashed as it looks like Samsung has no current plans to introduce a 128GB model for either handset.

While Samsung did not announce a 128GB model at its 'Unpacked' event last week, some eagle-eyed users and technology sites noticed that the official Samsung product page for the Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Note 5 had a posting for a 128GB variant. Unfortunately, it looks like this was in error as Samsung has officially confirmed to CNET that that 128GB value was simply a placeholder. While this doesn't rule out the potential for a future higher capacity model, I wouldn't hold your breath.

For now, those looking for the latest from Samsung will have to be content with either the 32GB or 64GB model. While this might not be a big deal to some, others will bemoan the paltry 64GB option, especially since there is no means to expand the storage via microSD. The Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Note 5 will arrive on August 21st.
