Google has announced the launch of the Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 514, the latest addition to the growing Chromebook Plus portfolio designed to bring powerful on-device AI experiences to users.
It features a 14-inch touchscreen with up to 2.8K resolution, a 360-degree hinge allowing users to switch between laptop, tablet, display and tent modes, and claims up to 17 hours of battery life on a single charge. Other specifications include Wi-Fi 7 connectivity and two USB-C ports.
The device runs on MediaTek’s Kompanio Ultra processor and the NPU inside the chip is capable of delivering up to 50 trillion operations per second (TOPS), enabling faster local AI processing in functions such as image editing, tab organisation, and visual search to work offline.
The device includes several AI-enhanced features built into ChromeOS. Smart Grouping automatically organises tabs, documents, and applications by category, while Gallery Image Editing provides AI-powered photo editing tools; both running on-device. Meanwhile, Select to Search with Lens allows users to search for information about objects or images on screen.
Alongside the new Chromebook, Google has also introduced two new Chromebox models. The Acer Chromebox CXI6, powered by an Intel Core 7 150U processor, can support up to four monitors while the smaller Acer Chromebox Mini CXM2 handles up to three monitors. Both are available with ChromeOS Enterprise Upgrade, providing businesses with enhanced security and simplified device management.
Finally, customers who purchase the Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 514 can redeem a 12-month subscription to the Google AI Pro plan. The plan includes access to Gemini 2.5 Pro, 2TB of cloud storage, and Gemini integration in Google Workspace apps such as Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
