It seems that 2025 is the year of different-looking iPhone accessories. We have already seen the Crossbody Strap designed to pair with the new iPhone 17 series and iPhone Air cases. The Cupertino giant has now teamed up with the Japanese fashion house ISSEY MIYAKE to launch the iPhone Pocket.
The new iPhone accessory looks more like a sling bag. According to Apple, iPhone Pocket is inspired by the concept of “a piece of cloth" and features a stretchy 3D-knitted fabric. Apple wanted to create an additional pocket that could hold any iPhone, AirPods, and other small items users might carry.
If you"re old enough, iPhone Pocket might remind you of the iPod Socks, which had a similar look but no strap. Meanwhile, ISSEY MIYAKE has been associated with Apple for a long time; its namesake founder was the mind behind Steve Jobs" famous turtleneck outfit.
The new iPhone accessory comes in short and long strap options; it can be used handheld, tied onto bags, or worn directly on the body. The contents inside the pocket are subtly revealed, and users can take a peek at their iPhone"s screen when the strap is stretched.
Commenting on the new iPhone accessory, Apple"s VP of Industrial Design Molly Anderson said that iPhone Pocket"s color palette "was intentionally designed to mix and match with all our iPhone models and colors — allowing users to create their own personalized combination. Its recognizable silhouette offers a beautiful new way to carry your iPhone, AirPods, and favorite everyday items."
That said, it"s worth noting that iPhone Pocket is a limited edition accessory going on sale on November 14 at Apple.com and select Apple Stores in the US, UK, France, Italy, Greater China, Japan, Singapore, and South Korea.
iPhone Pocket"s 40 cm-long short strap version, priced at $149.95, will be available in lemon, mandarin, purple, pink, peacock, sapphire, cinnamon, and black. Meanwhile, the 80 cm-long $229.95 strap version will be available in sapphire, cinnamon, and black.
While Apple says that iPhone Pocket can fit any iPhone, its official list of compatible devices only includes iPhone 8 and later models. You can mix and match different lengths and colors with your iPhone, but you don"t need a specific case; the accessory can be worn independently, unlike the Crossbody Strap.
