Arc Raiders sales cross 12 million, celebrates with a surprise gift for all players

One of the biggest video game success stories of 2025 was Arc Raiders. The more casual take on the extraction shooters landed in October and promptly blew up across PC and consoles, selling four million copies in two weeks. Now, that number has grown to 12 million, and it is continuing to set concurrent player records months after launch.

Arc Raiders sales have now crossed 12.4 million, according to the latest data released by the developer, Embark Studios. The peak concurrent number had also reached 960,000 in January 2026, a mere ten weeks after the multiplayer game"s launch.

"Reaching 12 million downloads is a milestone we owe entirely to the players," said Aleksander Grøndal, executive producer of Arc Raiders at Embark Studios. “The community of Raiders has helped shape this game from the very beginning, and their passion, feedback, and ingenuity continue to guide how we build, support, and grow this world for the long term."

The studio had been planning a gift for players for when the game reached 10 million players. However, the holiday rush had boosted sales to 12 million by the time it was finished with the reward.

Starting later today, January 13, a special Gilded Pickaxe Raider Tool cosmetic is being sent out to all players that have jumped into Arc Raiders since its launch in October last year. Today also marks the day that the next update hits Arc Raiders, taking away the popular Cold Snap map effect that froze over the landscape. A new map event should be replacing it soon.

At the same time, some balance changes are expected to land as well, which should affect some popular but overused items such as the Trigger Nade explosive as well as the Sticher and Kettle weapons.
