Last month, Ubisoft revealed that its development teams were going back to Assassin"s Creed Mirage to develop a brand-new chapter in its story. The free story expansion would be taking protagonist Basim Ibn Ishaq out of the game"s Baghdad setting and into 9th-century AlUla. Today, the company fully revealed the new content and detailed what exactly owners of the game are receiving for free as a part of this Valley of Memory update.
This new region brings in a new main quest, side quests, contracts, and other activities to complete. Ubisoft says that up to six hours of gameplay is present in this update, with its story taking place right before the final mission of the base game.
"Valley of Memory kicks off when Basim learns that his long-lost father might still be alive in AlUla," says Ubisoft, describing the new setting and story. "Basim decides to go on a journey to see if the rumors hold any truth, only to discover that the valley of AlUla is threatened by a dangerous band of robbers and his father is missing."
Ubisoft is also adding several new features to Assassin"s Creed Mirage as a part of this Valley of Memory update. These additions will affect the base campaign and its gameplay as well.
As a part of the changes, every Black Box mission and contract in Mirage will become fully replayable once completed, with added tweaks like disabled eagle missions, killing only the primary target, or full stealth runs. Parkour is also getting an upgrade to let players be more creative with their movement. This includes the ability to manually jump and more free ejects when climbing.
:A new control scheme is also being introduced to smoothen the experience of leaping from rooftop to rooftop," added Ubisoft. "Players will also be able to customize side and back ejects. Previously side and back ejects could only be performed when Basim had a clear landing spot or handhold. Now, Basim can side or back eject regardless of the landing spot."
Moreover, new skill and tool customizations, two new difficulty levels, and more are being introduced with this update.
The Assassin"s Creed Mirage Valley of Memory update is releasing on November 18 for all owners of the game across PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and cloud.
