Bing adds more depth to its homepage with audio effects

Microsoft has made its Bing search engine known for having unique and high-quality images posted to the search engine"s homepage every day. In 2011, the team added HTML5 video to the page, and now they are adding a new dimension: audio support.

Starting today, when you head to Bing, you can also hear the audio from a video showing on the homepage as well. The feature, which you have to turn on by clicking the audio button in the bottom right corner, adds another layer to the homepage to help separate it from the competition.

Fortunately, Microsoft has made the audio portion opt-in, so you won"t be blasted with unnecessary noise when trying to search.

The feature, which is now live on Bing, will be an ongoing addition to the homepage.
