The Epic Games Store has replaced its four-game giveaway from yesterday with a popular medieval fighting game to mark the arrival of the new year. Chivalry 2 is the latest title you can claim, but you may already have it in your library if you"ve been following the store"s giveaways in recent years. PC gamers can grab the game and keep it forever if they claim it before the next freebie appears on January 1.
Developed by Torn Banner Studios, Chivalry 2 is a large-scale multiplayer game that has you taking the role of a medieval fighter that"s participating in massive melee, ranged, and horseback battles. Taking inspiration from movie battle scenes, the focus is put on large-scale conflicts between players, with a huge amount of weapon variety, maps, and modes available.
"Rise to glory and expand your arsenal with a new subclass system that provides more variety than ever before. Four base classes expand to 10+ subclasses and over 30 unique weapons, each with multiple visual variants," explains the developer. "New support items ranging from oil pots to barricades, supply crates and archer’s stakes add even more tactical options to the battlefield."
The brand-new Chivalry 2 giveaway is live on the Epic Games Store right now. Following this, the next mystery freebie (or two) will reveal itself and unlock for all PC gamers at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET, January 1. The special holiday promotion still has a few days left on it before going away, but the store might be preparing a big giveaway to mark the arrival of the new year.
So far, the store"s offer has given away Hogwarts Legacy, Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel, Eternights, Blood West, Sorry We"re Closed, Paradise Killer, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, The Callisto Protocol, Disco Elysium - The Final Cut, We Were Here Together, Cassette Beasts, SKALD: Against the Black Priory, Viewfinder, and the first four Trine games to keep for PC gamers. The event is set to run until January 3 with a fresh giveaway every day.
