Regular Neowin readers know that mini PC are somewhat a frequent occurrence on the website, with Steven Parker frequently reviewing new devices from various manufacturers. CHUWI, a Chinese manufacturer of affordable laptops, all-in-ones, mini PCs, and accessories, announced the new AuBox X1, a small mini PC that promises to deliver a whisper-quiet experience with Intel"s Lunar Lake chips.
The AuBox X1 is powered by the Intel Core Ultra 5 226V Lunar Lake processor with 8 cores operating at up to 4.5 GHz. It has 16GB of non-expandable LPDDR5X memory and a 512GB SSD with an extra slot for another drive. Despite having one PCIe 5.0 M2 port and one PCIe 4.0 port, the computer ships with a PCIe Gen3 SSD (according to the spec sheet), which is an interesting cost-cutting measure, especially in a world where RAM and SSD are getting increasingly more expensive.
Thanks to having a Lunar Lake processor inside, the AuBox X1 qualifies as a Copilot+ PC, which means you can access all the local AI-powered features, such as Recall, Windows Studio Effects, image generation, semantic search, and more. All the hardware is packed into a metal 0.67 l case that only weighs 580 grams, even though a mini PC is not something you will carry around often.
As for I/O, the computer comes with a very rich set of ports, including two USB Type-C, six USB Type-A, two HDMI, one DisplayPort, one headphone jack, and one 2.5Gbps Ethernet port. The computer can also power up to three external displays at up to 8K 60Hz via HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, or USB4.
In the box, you will find the PC, a 100W power supply, and a VESA 100 mount so that you can put it on the back of your monitor for an ultra-minimal setup. As for the price, CHUWI says the AuBox X1 will cost between $600 and $700, with availability scheduled for March 2026.
