The Game Awards 2025 presentation just concluded, and the developer of the fan-favorite RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Sandfall Interactive, managed to take home a record-breaking number of awards. As a thank you to fans for supporting the game, it has also released a major content update to the RPG.
Previously, The Last of Us Part II held the record for most awards at The Game Awards with seven claims. Today, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 broke that record with nine awards, which were for Best Debut Indie Game, Best Indie Game, Best Art Direction, Best Score, Best RPG, Best Narrative, Best Performance, and Best Direction. Of course, the crown jewel of the event, the Game of the Year award, was also taken by the title.
Expedition 33 had already set records for being nominated for the most awards, and now it has reached a milestone that will be a difficult one to pass in any upcoming The Game Awards ceremonies.
Celebrating the incredible year it has been having, the Sandfall Interactive team is now rolling out the "Thank You" update to Expedition 33 across PC and consoles.
This carries a brand-new playable region named Verso’s Drafts, which touts fresh "child-like" environments, enemies, and more than a few surprises. This level has 13 new weapons to unlock and 16 new Luminas, as well as new costumes and hairstyles for all characters. Late-game players can also jump into the new Endless Tower to see how many of the game"s bosses they can beat in a row for additional rewards.
The Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Thank You update carries new music tracks by Lorien Testard as well, which land alongside a Photo Mode, a highly requested feature by fans.
"Our gratitude for this community goes far beyond what we are able to express, but this update should hopefully serve as our way of saying thank you," added the developer.
There are plenty more improvements and changes included in this update too. Find the full changelog over here.
