Back in January, Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced that the company"s annual I/O developer conference wouldn"t be held in San Francisco this year, but would instead be coming to its hometown of Mountain View, California, "where it all started 10 yrs ago".
The company has now kicked off its countdown to the first day of the event on its dedicated I/O site. Google will begin accepting registrations at 9am PST on March 8, and the sign-up window will end on March 10 at 5pm PST.
You"ll be able to register your interest at any time during those three days; Google will randomly select attendees from among all those who sign up, and early birds won"t gain any advantage by being the first to get their names on the list of those hoping to attend.
Those lucky enough to be selected will be informed via email, and will then be asked to pay the $900 fee for admission (a "limited number" of academic admissions will be available for $300, subject to verification).
