CD Projekt RED may keep saying that it is done with Cyberpunk 2077, but it keeps coming back with more and more updates. Today, it gave a detailed report on Update 2.3, and it will be carrying everything from new vehicles and features to a host of performance-focused changes. The update will be landing right alongside the new macOS release of Cyberpunk 2077 as well.
Kicking off the update with the performance upgrades, AMD Radeon RX 9000 series graphics card owners will be happy to know that AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4) upscaling is finally hitting the sci-fi RPG. The option will only be enabled once an upcoming AMD graphics driver brings support for it, however, and a release date for that has not been revealed yet.
CD Projekt RED has also upgraded AMD"s frame generation tech to FSR version 3.1 for better stability and visuals too. This can be used with any upscaler the title offers, be it DLSS or XeSS. Speaking of the Intel-developed upscaler, XeSS 2.0 with frame generation is also landing with the update. Consoles aren"t being forgotten either, as Variable Refresh Rate support is finally landing for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
As for the new gameplay features, an AutoDrive functionality to let players relax as the cars drive themselves to map markers, a Delamine taxi service that can be called anywhere (for a fee), and even a cinematic camera mode for these two self-driving modes are all coming with the update. To match those, four new vehicles and side jobs for acquiring them have been added too.
Find the complete patch notes over here, which also detail quite a few bug fixes that will be included in the update.
The Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 is releasing tomorrow, July 17, across PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Apple Silicon macOS machines. A Nintendo Switch 2 version of the update is also in development but will be arriving at a later date.
