Edifier MR4 active studio monitor bookshelf speakers, T5 subwoofer are deals

If you love listening to great sound and are looking for a nice pair of cans for around $100, the Sennheiser HD 599 SE is currently still up for sale at just $100. Get them while the deal is live from this dedicated article where you can find the specs details and purchase link.

Not everyone however may want a headset, some may prefer near-field desktop speakers and for those looking to get accurate stereo audio, they can have a look at Edifier"s MR3 bookshelf studio monitors that are up for grabs at the same price point. While the black variant is no longer available, the white model is still available. Get it while it lasts.

If you want something slightly better, the MR4 model is also also available for a good price of just $130 (purchase link under the specs table). Essentially, it is the same configuration but with some differences like having a dual mode, wherein the MR4 can switch between the Monitor mode (for more accurate flatter response) and Music Mode (with some colorisation via equlization).

Intestingly, the bass is not as deep as that on the MR3, and Edifier recommends adding a separate subwoofer (check out the T5 we discuss below). The technical specifications of the Edifier MR4 are given in the table below:

As mentioned above, you can also grab Edifier"s T5 active subwoofer to improve the bass response of the MR4. While this is not a subwoofer that can dig very deep, it is enough to provide the lacking low end up to around 40 Hz as Edifier claims the T5 can reach as low as 38 Hz. You can simply hook up the sub using the MR4"s headphone out (3.5mm) as the Edifier T5 can cut out the higher frequencies from that incoming signal with the help of the low-pass filter/crossover.

The technical specifications of the Edifier T5 active subwoofer are given in the table below:

Specification Value
Driver Unit 8-inch front-firing long-throw woofer
Frequency Response 38Hz – 200Hz
Output Power 70W RMS
Amplifier Type Class-D amplifier
Signal Processing Texas Instruments high-performance analog front end with DSP
Controls Volume Control
Low Pass Filter Control
Phase Control
Inputs Signal In (RCA)
Outputs Signal Out (RCA pass-through)
