Edifier R1280Ts bookshelf MR3 studio monitor speakers for PC are fantastic deals

Edifier is selling its MR3 and R1280Ts bookshelf monitor speakers at their lowest prices. These are active so you need not worry about external amplification.

While memory prices are certainly extremely high, you can still save money elsewhere while building a PC using discounted parts. We have been covering them here at Neowin, and these have included a 27-inch Predator OLED gaming monitor from Acer, a Corsair 4000D airflow case, and an Edifier R1280Ts bookshelf speaker (only for a very limited time).

Aside from the 1280Ts, Edifier also has its MR3 powered studio monitor speaker at a low price of just $100 (purchase link under the specs table down below). As this is a studio monitor, Edifier promises that the MR3 produces a "flat frequency response from 52Hz to 40kHz".

While we can not hear above 20kHz and most middle-aged men struggle beyond even 10kHz, some believe the extended high frequency response can create a level of "airy"-ness in the sound, and this is also why audiophiles often prefer having a super-tweeter to go along with a tweeter.

In terms of differences between the 1280Ts and the MR3, the former can handle more power though it obviously will not be able to output as flat a response. However, it is more versatile for bass as it carries a subwoofer-lineout port for adding an active subwoofer to increase low frequency response.
