The Essential PH-1 smartphone was showcased in May by the company founder and CEO, Andy Rubin. The device, which recently began arriving at customers" doors, offered a near bezel-less display and the ability to accept accessories via its unique pogo pins as well.
Essential PH-1 was launched as a carrier-exclusive for the Sprint network despite having the capability to work with other networks. Although the smartphone was sold unlocked and should have no problems working with other networks, the lack of Verizon certification meant that issues which arose when using the device on the network would not have been handled by Verizon representatives.
Earlier today, in a tweet sent out by Rubin, he states that the Verizon certification of the Essential PH-1 has been completed and that customers only have to do a device reboot to register the change.

The Essential PH-1 is available for purchase on the Essential website, Amazon, Best Buy, and other retailers for $699.
