The Epic Games Store"s freebie promotion has just been refreshed. This week, PC gamers can claim a copy of Sable for the low, low price of free, which has taken the spot from last week"s offer, The Operator. As always, you have seven days to add the latest indie game permanently to your Epic Games Store library.
Developed by Shedworks, Sable comes in as an exploration-focused open-world experience with a unique art style. You take the role of a young girl embarking on a rite of passage on a distant desert planet. The journey has her exploring the massive land in search of a mask from her nomadic clan. You"ll be using a slick hoverbike for traveling between locations before going on foot for exploring the insides of ancient ruins.
The storyline is non-linear, as you can head to any point of interest and interact with the NPCs and puzzles there. There isn"t any combat either, with puzzle solving, plenty of platforming, and environmental clues being the only points of interest.
"Embark on a unique and unforgettable journey and guide Sable through her Gliding; a rite of passage that will take her across vast deserts and mesmerizing landscapes, capped by the remains of spaceships and ancient wonders," says the developer, describing the gameplay. "Explore the dunes on your hoverbike, scale monumental ruins and encounter other nomads as you unearth mysteries long forgotten and discover who she really is behind her mask."
The Sable giveaway on the Epic Games Store is live now, and it will last until July 3. When it"s not on sale, the game costs $24.99 to purchase. Another PC game will come in as the next freebie on the same day that this entry expires.
