It appears that for the next year"s Galaxy S-series, fans would have to wait for a bit longer than usual. Samsung is expected to launch the phone at the end of February, with the release tipped to happen in March. But that doesn"t mean things aren"t going to be exciting. A new tip has surfaced on social media platform X, courtesy of tipster chuvn8888, that suggests some good things about the Galaxy S26 Ultra cameras.
Earlier today, they shared the purported camera hardware details of the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Based on the tip, the phone would arrive with a 200MP HP2 primary sensor, 50MP JN3 ultra wide, 12MP 3x telephoto, and 50MP 5x periscope lens.
To top it off, the leaker also spilled some of the features that Samsung could introduce with the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Starting things off, 24MP is rumored to be the default resolution for normal and portrait photo modes. Until now, 12MP was set as the default for both photo modes, with the manual option to dial up to 50MP and 200MP. This is also similar to the latest iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models that default to 24MP for the main camera.

- 24MP mode for default and portrait mode
- adaptive pixel: clear noisies by combining multiple lower-resolution pics to a single hi-res pic
- focus speed slider for picture and video mode
- allows to turn off HDR10+ and use regular HDR https://t.co/uzdEs0wSJv
Samsung could also make use of adaptive pixel technology that will help reduce noise. This will be achieved by combining multiple low-resolution images with a single high-resolution image. Then the Galaxy S26 Ultra could also gain a focus speed slider, which would presumably let users adjust the speed at which the camera shifts focus.
Last but not least, Galaxy S26 Ultra might also let users turn off HDR10+ and use regular HDR instead. Based on the leaks, the Galaxy S26 Ultra camera seems to be a decent upgrade over this year"s model. Let us know what you think about what you are seeing.
