Gamescom is back, and kicking off the 2025 event is another Opening Night Live showcase. Game Awards and Summer Game Fest creator Geoff Keighley is back as a host this year for this show, too, and it looks like there are going to be some major reveals planned out for the show.
The 2025 Gamescom Opening Night Live event begins at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET / 8 PM CEST / 7 PM BST today, August 19. The show will be around two hours in length, with new announcements, live presentations, surprises, and other video game-related reveals already lined up.
The show can be caught on the official Gamescom website as well as on Twitch, YouTube, and X. For those who want to get caught up in the hype, a pre-show will lead into the main event starting at 10:30 AM PT.
One of the biggest confirmed appearances for today is Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, with Microsoft and Treyarch slated to fully reveal this year"s shooter entry for the masses, possibly with looks at both the campaign and multiplayer. PlayStation"s Ghost of Yotei, Capcom"s Resident Evil: Requiem, the Xbox and Obsidian RPG The Outer Worlds 2, the Team Ninja and PlatinumGames-developed Ninja Gaiden 4, and even Blizzard"s next World of Warcraft "Midnight" expansion are all confirmed appearances.
For those interested in the Fallout universe, the first trailer for the Fallout TV show"s second season will also premiere during the show. A live music performance from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 composers Lorien Testard and Alice Duport‑Percier will be happening at Opening Night Live as well.
As for currently circulating leaks and reports, Hollow Knight: Silksong may actually be re-revealed during the showcase. It will already be playable on the show floor at Gamescom, and hints by creators and even Geoff Keighley himself seem to point at the game getting a trailer, with possibly a release date.
