Google announces Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL with Tensor G5 SoC

After several leaks over the past few weeks, Google today officially announced the 10th-generation Pixel smartphones: the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL. All three smartphones come with an improved design, better camera experiences, and more.

Google didn"t change much of the exterior design when compared to the previous-generation Pixel devices. The Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL come with a refined camera bar, a satin-finish metal frame, and a polished glass back.

The Pixel 10 has dimensions of 152.8 mm in height, 72 mm in width, and 8.6 mm in depth, and it weighs 204 grams. The Pixel 10 Pro shares the same dimensions but weighs 207 grams, and the Pixel 10 Pro XL has dimensions of 162.8 mm in height, 76.6 mm in width, and 8.5 mm in depth, and weighs 232 grams.

The Pixel 10 features a 6.3-inch Actua display with support for 3000-nits brightness, while the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL feature 6.3-inch and 6.8-inch Actua displays, respectively. The Pixel 10 Pro series will be available in four colors: Obsidian, Porcelain, Moonstone, and Jade.

All the Pixel 10-series smartphones now feature a triple rear camera system. The Pixel 10 Pro series features a 50 MP wide camera, a 48 MP ultra-wide with Macro Focus, and a 48 MP 5x telephoto lens that supports Pro Res Zoom up to 100x and optical quality at 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 5x, and 10x. The Pixel 10 features a 48 MP wide with Macro Focus, a 13 MP ultra-wide, and a 10.8 MP 5x telephoto lens that supports Super Res Zoom up to 20x and optical quality at 0.6x, 1x, 5x, and 10x.

Thanks to the new Tensor G5 SoC, the Pixel 10-series smartphones are more powerful and efficient than ever. The Tensor G5 delivers an up to 60% more powerful TPU and a 34% faster CPU on average when compared to the G4. Since the Tensor G5 is built using TSMC"s 3 nm process node, the chip is more efficient than the previous generation. Google claims that Tensor G5 is the first chip to run the newest Gemini Nano model and it powers several new AI features like Magic Cue, Voice Translate, Call Notes with actions, and Personal Journal.

All Pixel 10 smartphones support Pixelsnap (Google"s MagSafe-like magnetic charging tech) for built-in Qi2 wireless charging. On the software side, the Pixel 10 series will be the first to feature Android"s Material 3 Expressive design language.

You can now pre-order the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL, starting at $799, $999, and $1199. Google is offering a 12-month Google AI Pro subscription for free for all Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL owners. These devices will begin shipping on August 28 and are available for pre-order on places like Amazon.
