Today, Google announced the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, its latest foldable smartphone with improved performance, a new gearless hinge, significant camera improvements, and more.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is made from aerospace-grade aluminum and comes in two colors: Moonstone and Jade. Google claims that the new gearless hinge is more durable than the Pixel 9 Pro Fold"s and comes with an IP68 water and dust resistance rating. Google has also made the Super Actua Flex Display more durable by using an ultra-thin glass and two layers of anti-impact film for improved drop protection.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold now comes with an 8-inch inner display and a larger 6.4-inch outer display. Both displays can reach 3,000 nits of brightness to make outdoor viewing a seamless experience. Google also claims that this foldable device can offer a battery life of up to 30+ hours. Thanks to fast-charging support, customers can charge this device to 50% battery in just 30 minutes. With Qi2 charging and Pixelsnap (Google"s MagSafe-like magnetic technology), customers can enjoy a great wireless charging experience.
In case you were wondering if it is even thinner than the Galaxy Fold 8 (8.9 mm), or Honor Magic V5 (8.8 mm), it isn"t... the dimensions are as follows (unfolded): 155,2 mm (height) x 76,3 mm (width) x 10,8 mm (thickness), folded open: 155,2 mm (height) x 150,4 mm (width) x 5,2 mm (thickness), and it weighs 258 grams.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is powered by Google"s latest Tensor G5 chip, which delivers improved AI performance that can power the latest AI features, including Gemini Live, Magic Cue, Daily Hub, Camera Coach, and more.
On the camera front, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold comes with a new 48MP main camera to deliver an improved imaging experience. Google is also delivering a new software feature called Instant View that will allow users to preview their photos instantly when unfolded, allowing them to quickly re-take the photo if required.
Finally, Google mentioned that it is working with developers to optimize their Android apps for foldable devices like the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is now available for pre-order for $1,799 from Amazon and other retailers. It will be shipping on October 9.
