Hades II, Supergiant Games"s first sequel ever, was released last year after spending some time in early access. However, it only landed on PC, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2. Today, during the Xbox Developer Direct presentation, the studio finally had a new announcement to make about Xbox and PlayStation, revealing that ports are landing next month for both platforms.
The title leaves behind Zagreus from the first game and locks in his sister Melinoe as the newest protagonist. The roguelike"s award-winning fast-paced combat and traversal mechanics return though, with plenty of witch-related powers. The story has players taking on Chronos, the Titan of Time, while getting help from the rest of the Olympian Gods.
The studio confirmed that the Xbox and PlayStation versions of the game will run at 120 FPS. At the same time, a patch releasing on the same day will bring additional content and quality of life improvements that it has been working on for platforms both old and new.
"Hades II for Xbox and PlayStation has been our focus since last year"s v1.0 launch, during which time the game earned numerous industry accolades, including Best Action Game at The Game Awards and the D.I.C.E. Awards, Best Game on Steam Deck in the Steam Awards, Best Foreign Game at the Pégases Awards, and more," said Supergiant Games today. "We"re very grateful for the reception, and are looking forward to hearing both from new and returning players soon."
Outside of hitting new platforms, the studio also confirmed today that Hades II will be hitting Xbox Game Pass on the same day it releases on Xbox platforms. Check out the new trailer above.
Hades II has an April 14 release date attached to the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 versions.
