HMD Global offers new version of the Nokia 5 in India

HMD Global first announced the Nokia 5 towards the beginning of the year, alongside the Nokia 3. It would take a few months, but it would finally make its way to India, going on sale in July. While the original handset offered 2GB RAM, it looks like a new model will be introduced, one that offers a small RAM bump.

According to Ajey Mehta, who is the Vice President of HMD Global India,

"Nokia 5 has already forged a reputation for being a beautifully crafted phone which punches well above its weight. Now we have added more memory so fans can get enhanced performance in the same precision engineered design."

As a refresher, the Nokia 5 offers:

  • 5.2-inch 720 display
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor
  • 3GB RAM
  • 16GB internal storage with microSD expansion
  • 13MP camera with 8MP front-facing camera
  • 3,000mAh battery
  • Android Nougat

The new model of the Nokia 5 will be priced at ₹13,499 which is around $209 USD. It will be offered in two color variants, Matte Black and Tempered Blue, and will be available through Flipkart.com starting on November 7.
