Another demo festival with plenty of slices from upcoming games is landing on Xbox soon again. Microsoft just announced the latest edition of ID@Xbox Indie Selects Demo Fest, and starting this week, over 40 demos from upcoming games will be present for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One players to try out for no charge.
Here are some aspects of this demo festival that Microsoft pointed at as things to keep in mind when participating:
- While some may return to the Demo channel later, most of these demos will only be available to play this month, so don’t delay – if you see something you like the sound of, try it now!
- These game demos differ from the usual ones in our Demo channel, as they’re shared before the games are finished and may not reflect the final product. Think of them more like “showfloor demos,” giving you early access and a chance to provide feedback. Expect these games to develop and improve before release.
- Speaking of feedback – please share your thoughts with the developers via social media, or their websites! You could help shape the future of these games.
Unfortunately, a full list of game demos has not been revealed yet. Today"s announcement did give a few teasers, though. This includes the Metroidvania experience Echo Weaver that offers players time manipulation powers to break a loop, as well as the retro-style action-adventure Mina the Hollower from the Shovel Knight creators.
Next, two mini-games from the Jackbox Party Pack 11 will be present for party game enjoyers to try out, while Yooka-Replaylee, the upcoming remake of the classic 3D indie platforming collectathon title, will land with remixed challenges, a map, new currency, and more goodies.
This indie games-focused demo festival will begin on September 9 and last until September 30, offering three weeks of action for Xbox players.
