The MX Keys S keyboard features a rechargeable 1500 mAh Li-Po battery and connects via Bluetooth, with support for pairing up to three devices using Easy-Switch. It offers a wireless range of up to 10 metres and includes smart backlit keys that activate with hand proximity and automatically adjust based on ambient lighting. Charging is via USB-C, providing up to 10 days of use with backlighting enabled or up to five months with backlighting turned off.
