Logitech is getting ready to announce a successor to the MX Master 3S, arguably one of the best productivity mice out there. While the 3S from 2022 was a minor update to the legendary MX Master 3, which I still use, albeit with upgraded silent switches, the MX Master 4 appears to be a more substantial update with a new design, new features, and, for the first time, haptic feedback.
WinFuture obtained a bunch of promo renders of the MX Master 4, which showcase the upcoming mouse in its full glory. Like the MX Master 3S, the new model will be available in three colors: black, dark gray and light gray. This time, however, Logitech is switching to main buttons made of transparent plastic for extra-fancy looks. Materials overall are now expected to be more durable to resolve one of the main complaints about the MX Master 3/3S and their quickly deteriorating shells.
One of the biggest changes in the MX Master 4 is haptic feedback. The mouse will vibrate in the thumb area, giving you physical cues about various actions, such as changing settings, cursor adjustments, launching apps, or doing something else. Like the other features, vibration will be customizable in the Logitech Options+ app.
Logitech is also giving the mouse a new control. The thumb button will move to the forward/backward buttons, and the thumb area will get the so-called Actions Ring. This control will let you bring a software overlay with additional features, shortcuts, actions, etc. If you want to try Actions Ring right now, you can assign it to one of the buttons on your supported Logitech mouse in the Options+ app.
Finally, users can look forward to quieter clicks and the signature MagScroll wheel paired with a horizontal scroll wheel. The battery is expected to be 500 mAh, and the Bolt connector will finally move to USB-C. As for the price and launch date, WinFuture claims the mouse will launch on September 30, 2025, with a cost of 129.99 EUR (~$150).
