Lost Steve Jobs interview heading to theaters in November

The interest in Apple"s late co-founder Steve Jobs seems to be continuing. This week it was announced that a film interview with Jobs, featuring footage made 16 years ago, will be shown in select movie theaters in the US on November 16-17. The film, titled Steve Jobs: The Lost Interview, will be shown in 19 cities as part of the Landmark Theaters chain.

Only a few minutes of the interview with Jobs, back before he returned to Apple as CEO in 1997, have been seen before by the public in a 1995 PBS documentary called Triumph of the Nerds. The full 70 minute interview was thought to be lost until someone in London found an unedited copy of the video. It has now been restored and the full unedited video interview is the basis for the new film.

Interest in Jobs since his death last month at the age of 56 has extended to his official biography which came out two weeks after his passing. Reuters reports that the book, by author Walter Isaacson, sold 379,000 print copies in its first week, according to figures supplied by Nielsen"s BookScan. Those numbers don"t include sales of digital book copies via Amazon"s Kindle service or Apple"s own iBook service. Amazon has already predicted that the book will be its biggest seller for 2011.

The interest in Jobs even extends to the glasses that he sometimes wore in keynote addresses. The Wall Street Journal reports that the $450 glasses, made by Lunor of Germany, are being promoted on the company"s web site simply as "The Glasses of Steve Jobs."
