Manus AI is a general-purpose AI agent platform capable of independently performing multi-step digital tasks such as market research, coding, and data analysis. The company positions Manus as an “action engine” that bridges large language model (LLM) reasoning with real-world tool execution. Manus has also outperformed several competing agentic systems on AI benchmarks such as GAIA. In 2025, the company reportedly generated $125 million in revenue.
Today, Meta announced that it is acquiring Manus for an undisclosed sum. Meta stated that Manus will continue to operate and sell its existing service while also being integrated into Meta’s products and services.

The Manus team in Singapore are world class at exploring the capability overhang of today’s models to scaffold powerful agents.
Looking forward to working with you, @Red_Xiao_!
Unlike some recent acqui-hires or licensing-focused deals, Manus is being fully acquired. Manus employees will join Meta to work on general-purpose AI agents designed to serve billions of consumers and millions of businesses worldwide.
In a blog post announcing the deal, the Manus team emphasized that its top priority is ensuring the acquisition does not impact existing customers. The company will continue to sell and operate its subscription service through its app and website. Importantly, Manus will continue to operate out of Singapore. However, the company is cutting ties with its Chinese investors and is also laying off all of its China-based employees.
Xiao Hong, CEO of Manus, said:
“Joining Meta allows us to build on a stronger, more sustainable foundation without changing how Manus works or how decisions are made. We’re excited about what the future holds with Meta and Manus working together, and we will continue to iterate on the product and serve the users who have defined Manus from the beginning.”
This acquisition marks a significant step in Meta"s push toward advanced agentic AI, moving beyond simple chatbots to systems capable of executing complex workflows.
