Microsoft is seemingly hellbent on integrating Copilot into its entire software catalog as well as products made by other vendors. Recent examples include Copilot"s arrival in Samsung TVs and monitors, Visual Studio, and Windows 11. Now, the Redmond tech firm has decided that it"s ready to bring its AI assistant to the employee engagement platform Viva Engage too.
If you"re not familiar with Viva Engage, it"s basically a rebrand of Yammer that took place a couple of years ago. Just like its predecessor, it is designed to improve communication within and across organizations through communities, virtual events, announcements, and more. Its position in the enterprise space makes it a prime target for integration with Copilot, which is exactly what Microsoft worked on.
Microsoft has explained the numerous ways in which customers can use Copilot in Viva Engage. Some of these include context-aware prompts to drive productivity, smart catch-up cards containing summaries, and grouping of content by themes, which you can directly inquire about from Copilot. In addition, Copilot also makes the searching experience significantly better since it understands natural language prompts and contexts, which means that search queries like "Catch me up on where I"ve been mentioned" should yield accurate results.
Those who are active on Viva Engage through announcements will be pleased to know that Copilot in Engage connects to Outlook and Teams for additional context, which means that you can leverage this integration to write posts through AI, rather than writing one from scratch.
Microsoft 365 Copilot integration in Viva Engage is now generally available for customers with a Copilot license. The tech giant believes that this is the future of workplace productivity through communities, but it is eager to gauge your feedback on this feature too. Simply click the thumbs-up or thumbs-down button on Copilot responses, which should facilitate developers in refining the overall experience.
Keep in mind that Microsoft already brought some Copilot AI features to Viva Engage, the latest announcement deals with the general availability of specifically Microsoft 365 Copilot, which offers integration with other Microsoft apps, as explained above.
