Microsoft confirms outage as some Microsoft 365 services go down

Microsoft has confirmed that some of the Microsoft 365 services are currently down again. The company confirmed this via its official Microsoft 365 Status X handle as it notes that the Microsoft 365 Admin Center may be down. The tech giant has informed that you can get status updates regarding the progress of the bug under the issue ID "MO1268822". This is rather ironic considering the admin panel itself is not accessible due to the bug and that"s where typically bugs and outages are tracked.

We"re investigating an issue in which admins may be unable to access the Microsoft 365 admin center. We"ll provide updates to https://t.co/NGTs4F9I9r while the admin center is not accessible. If the admin center is accessible to you, you can track updates related to this issue…

We will update the post once more details are available.

Update, April 3 2025, 4.30 GMT: Microsoft has said that it managed to get to the root of the issue and fix it. It added that the issue was not widespread:

Impact related to this event is largely localized to the Central US region. We"ve identified a portion of infrastructure that has entered a degraded state and are performing targeted restarts. Further details can be found at https://t.co/NGTs4F9I9r or under MO1268822.

The targeted restarts did not mitigate impact as expected. We’re reviewing recent changes to determine whether that could be contributing to impact. Updates can be found at https://t.co/NGTs4F9I9r, or under MO1268822 if the admin center is available to you.

We re-routed traffic to an alternate portion of infrastructure and after a period of monitoring, we"ve validated that service has been restored. More information can be found in the admin center under MO1268822.
