Microsoft Flight Simulator City Update 12 brings enhancements to several German cities

Asobo Studio, the maker of Microsoft Flight Simulator and its 2024 edition, announced a new content update for the game. City Update 12 is now available on all platforms, offering gamers some German cities with improved details and better realism.

Microsoft Flight Simulator City Update 12 improves the following seven German cities: Augsburg in the state of Bavaria, Bremen in the state of Bremen, Dresden and its borough, Leuben, along with Leipzig in the state of Saxony, Kiel in the state of Schleswig-Holstein, and Münster in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Microsoft Flight Simulator is famous for allowing users to visit any part of the world, but most places are auto-generated, which sometimes results in odd spots like plane-shaped buildings, dams instead of bridges, and more. However, with City Updates, developers bring more human touch to popular areas and countries, giving them hand-made models, points of interest, airports, and more.

With Update 12, the game lets users enjoy spotting castles, botanical gardens, bridges, skyscrapers, and more parts of Germany in extra detail. Those include Augsburg Town Hall, the Fuggerei, the oldest social housing area in the world, St. Peter’s Cathedral and Bremen City Hall, Zwinger Palace and Frauenkirche in Dresden, Kiel City Hall, the Schleswig-Holstein State Theater, Monument to the Battle of the Nations in Leipzig, Münster Cathedral, and more.

In case you missed it, the previous City Update reworked parts of New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. Also, a third party developer prepared a new premium DLC that will let you explore a massive Jurassic Park.

You can play Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on PC (Steam and the Microsoft Store) and Xbox Series X|S. If you have none of that, Microsoft lets you stream the game using Xbox Cloud Gaming, which is soon expected to receive a more affordable tier (currently available only to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers).
