Microsoft is testing cross-device play history feature on Xbox consoles and PC

Xbox Insiders are gaining two more features to their testing arsenal as Microsoft pushes out another update across its PC and Xbox platforms. Of the two additions coming today, the biggest is the Play History, letting Xbox players see what games they have been playing across all platforms at once.

Coming in as a new tile found at the end of the "Jump Back In" list, this new Play History option shows all of the games the player has spent time in recently. However, this one differs from previous gaming history lookups, as it shows the titles played across any Xbox-supported platform, whether it be an Xbox console, a Windows PC, or a handheld.

"No matter the device, your progress, preferences, and play moments are always just a tap away – be it continuing a late-night session on your laptop, sneaking in a quick match on your handheld, or diving deep on your console, Xbox makes it effortless to stay connected to the games you love," says Xbox Experiences Product Manager Lily Wang in the feature announcement blog post today.

This should let players easily jump back into games that support features like Xbox Play Anywhere or Xbox Cloud Gaming, regardless of what Xbox platform they are using.

Speaking of cloud gaming, the company had another change for that feature, too. Microsoft has also been making some big pushes on the PC side of Xbox for some time now, and the latest Insider update is bringing a way for PC players to find out what exactly the cloud-playable games they have in their library are, from both owned games and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

To find this filter, Xbox Insiders on the PC Gaming Preview version of the Xbox PC app can head to the Library section and select the Cloud-Playable option below the sorting section.

Being cloud games, Xbox, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S titles that never arrived on PC are included in this list, too, for easy access. Don"t forget that Xbox Insiders on PC also gained "Stream Your Own Game" functionality earlier this month.
