We know that people love to personalize the things they own. So we built the #TileArt app to make it easier for you to pin your favorite images to the home screen, to personalize your lock screen and to share your awesome creation with the world. The five main features of the app include:

  • Create your own custom tile layout
  • Upload transparent PNG images
  • Access free #TileArt Gallery
  • Customize your lock screen
  • Share home screen with your friends.

We’re excited to see what you come up with, so have fun, get creative and use the #TileArt hashtag so we can see your amazing home screen in action!

Additionally, Microsoft has also partnered with TalentHouse to select four artists, illustrators or graphic designers who will have the original artwork that they create with the #TileArt app featured in its gallery. The competition, consisting of two rounds, will run till 24 February 2015 and the winners will be awarded $1500 and a Surface Pro 3 each.

The app - although fairly basic in its functionality - works quite well even on low-memory Windows Phone devices and can be downloaded from the Windows Phone Store for free.
