Microsoft Talks Kodu

At their CES Keynote, Microsoft is currently discussing Kodu, which was formerly known as Boku. Kodu is their application/game on the Xbox 360 that allows users to create their own game. It is designed to be accessible for children and enjoyable for anyone, introducing a new visual programming language made specifically for creating games.

I have to be honest, the demo left me absolutely underwhelmed, and although it is geared towards children, I had originally thought that perhaps the hardcore gaming community would embrace it as well. Now, I definitely have my doubts and I am leaning towards believing Kodu is going to be nothing more than a good idea that was poorly executed.

Perhaps I am wrong, and Kodu is going to be a huge hit. Discuss your thoughts and impressions if you happened to see that part of the Keynote.
