Microsoft has announced several updates for Viva Insights, including that it’s combining the Copilot Dashboard with advanced Copilot reporting in the Viva Insights web app with the aim of making it easier for organizations to see how Copilot is being used and how it’s impacting productivity. With this new unified experience, users have broader access to Copilot reports and new report publishing functionality.
Another update that Microsoft has added is the new Power BI report for Copilot Studio agents, which is now in public preview. This report will give organizations the ability to track the adoption and impact of custom AI agents built using Microsoft Copilot Studio. It also lets companies measure any productivity gains and user satisfaction from these agents to see how they are used across different communication channels.
Copilot Studio agents, for those unaware, are specialized AI tools built for specific tasks and business challenges that are integrated with Microsoft 365 Copilot. It’s important to reiterate that this is still in public preview, so things could change before a stable release.
Finally, this update from Microsoft brings two new reports to Viva Insights that focus on learning and skills, the Learning Culture Report and Skills Landscape Report.
The Learning Culture Report, which is available as a Power BI template, helps human resources and leaders understand how employees are engaging with learning content in Viva Learning, including any content that is consumed during self-directed learning (non-assigned).
To use the Learning Culture report:
- Learning Knowledge admins must first enable data sharing from Viva Learning to Viva Insights.
- Viva Insights Analysts can then create the report using the Power BI template available in the analyst experience.
- Reports are updated weekly ensuring timely and relevant insights.
The Skills Landscape Report is available in public preview and helps identify the top skills, areas of specialization, and critical capabilities within organizations. It’s powered by Viva Insights and People Skills data.
To use either of these reports, Microsoft warns that they require specific data sharing to be enabled. Viva Learning to Viva Insights must be on and People Skills data sharing with Viva Insights must be enabled.
