Monument Valley is free to claim on the Epic Games Store

The Epic Games Store has just refreshed its weekly giveaways promotion, and there is a single game up for grabs this time. Replacing the Machinarium and Make Way giveaways from last week, Monument Valley has now landed for all PC gamers to claim. Interestingly, it looks like Epic has delayed the The Battle of Polytopia freebie offer that was supposed to go online today as well, making this week"s freebie a single game instead.

As always, you have seven days to add the latest indie game permanently to your Epic Games Store library.

Monument Valley lands for puzzle game enjoyers, offering levels filled with minimalist artwork and impossible architecture to lead the main character through. Each level offers sections of buildings and pathways to manipulate, letting players rotate platforms, shift the ground, and uncover hidden routes. The title"s unique visual style is compared by many to M. C. Escher drawings.

"Embark on a journey of forgiveness along with Ida, the silent princess, through impossible environments and illusionary puzzles," says developer ustwo games. "Experience this meditative and calming puzzle game by manipulating monuments and creating evolving paths to explore new, surreal, and mysterious worlds."

While the original release arrived on iOS and Android devices back in 2014 (and even Windows Phone in 2015), it took until 2022 for ustwo to bring the title over to PC. Since then, the game studio has spawned two sequels with similar impossible architecture-related puzzles for fans.

The Monument Valley giveaway on the Epic Games Store is live right now, and it will last until September 11. PC gamers can add the title to their library for no cost during the seven-day timeframe before the next freebies arrive. Speaking of the next batch, Epic will begin offering Ghostrunner 2, Monument Valley 2, and The Battle of Polytopia on the same day.
