Nano Banana makes Google Photos even more powerful with new features

Almost a month ago, Google announced that it is expanding its Nano Banana AI model to more services such as Google Search and NotebookLM. At that time, it also noted that is bringing this integration to Google Photos too, and now, that day has finally arrived.

Google has detailed six new things that you can now do in Google Photos thanks to new AI capabilities. The first involves making personalized edits to existing photos by tapping on Help me edit and then firing very specific prompts like "Remove Riley"s sunglasses, open my eyes, make Engel smile and open her eyes." Secondly, you can now leverage conversational editing capabilities in iOS - this was previously available on Android.

When it comes to features powered by Nano Banana, you can restyle your images in numerous designs such as Renaissance portraits, mosaic tiles, and in the style of an image from a children"s book. However, if you"re unsure about how you want AI to enhance your image, Google is also rolling out templates in the Create tab for Android customers in the U.S. and India. The company plans to enhance this experience further in the coming weeks by introducing personalized templates based on your past editing process.

The final two features are not related to Nano Banana, but are still interesting. Ask Photos is coming to 100 more countries and 17 languages this week, bringing the powerful search utility to more users. Finally, there is a new Ask button which lets customers ask specific questions about the content of an image. This can be very useful in finding the context of an image if you"re trying to jog your memory about where it"s from. That said, do keep in mind that access to many of these AI features requires purchasing a subscription to Google Gemini.
