Neowin: An apology to IE8 users

Time for a bit of site news. We have determined that guests who browse Neowin Forums using Internet Explorer 8 experienced frequent lock-ups.

After investigating the issue, we found that it came from an advertising code that is shown only to guests, which has now been removed.

You still may see an error displayed on the bottom left of your browser, this does not affect browsing or the page in any way and that is still under investigation; however Neowin no longer freezes using IE8.

All the same, I encourage you to register so that you will see less ads, and have access to a couple more forums that we do not showcase to unregistered guests (off topic discussion areas). We are also giving away subscriptions every week from June to October, even more reason to take the plunge and register. You can view more details on how to participate here.

Again, I apologize for the inconvienience.
