New Galaxy S10 leak reveals Samsung Blockchain KeyStore out of the box

In early December of last year, it was reported that Samsung filed a number of trademark applications in the European Union for various cryptocurrency services including the "Blockchain KeyStore" which will be used for storing crypto keys in mobile devices. Although the documents didn"t mention any specific phone model that would feature that technology, a new leak appears to indicate that the upcoming Galaxy S10 will be integrated with the aforementioned cryptocurrency wallet.

A few images confirming the Blockchain KeyStore app popped up on Twitter, courtesy of Gregory Blake and Ben Geskin. In the photos, the supposed Galaxy S10 device is seen running the cryptocurrency service.

It also seems that the app lists Ethereum as the only supported crypto platform, although SamMobile claims that Bitcoin, ERC20, and Bitcoin Cash will be supported as well once Samsung launches the device. Additionally, the cryptocurrency wallet is expected to allow users to import an existing wallet or set up a new one, as indicated by the leak.

Of course, the presence of a cryptocurrency app won"t be expected to primarily influence the buying decision of consumers. However, for those who"ve invested in cryptocurrency, the app is an added bonus. We"ll hear more from the South Korean tech giant soon as it is expected to announce its next range of flagship devices on February 20.
