New photos emerge of Lumia McLaren, the cancelled successor to the mighty Lumia 1020

Back in 2014, Nokia and Microsoft were working on a new Windows Phone flagship, under the development codename "McLaren". The handset was intended as a replacement for its Lumia 1020, which featured a 41-megapixel PureView camera.

However, in mid-2014, the device was officially cancelled, and the long wait for a new Windows Phone range-topper began - a wait that would continue until Microsoft eventually launched the Lumia 950 and 950 XL in late-2015.

McLaren - which would have launched as the "Lumia 1030", and was rumored to have an upgraded 50-megapixel camera - has been seen in photos before. Videos published last year and earlier this month also showed off the handset"s "3D Touch" feature, allowing users to interact with the display without actually making contact with it.

Today, more photos of McLaren were published by Chinese site WFun.com. Among the images is a view of the handset"s "About" screen, showing that the device had a display with Full HD (1920x1080px) resolution, along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) SoC - the same as that used in Nokia"s earlier Lumia 930/Icon and Lumia 1520 flagships.
