New screenshots and features of Wave 4 Hotmail

LiveSide.net (via LiveSino.net) has gotten their hands on some screenshots of the upcoming Wave 4 update of Microsoft"s Hotmail webmail service. Not only did the screenshots sport the new logo that Neowin reported last week, it also revealed a bunch of new features. In this M3 build, here"s what was noticed:

  • Unified Bing powered search box
  • Improved email filters based on sender information - options to view emails only from your contacts, social network updates, Windows Live Groups, and everyone else
  • Quick views - quickly see emails with flags, attached photos, or attached documents (Documents will likely integrate with Office Web Apps)
  • Web messenger - moved to bottom left corner and has a searchable contact list
  • "Sweep" menu - allows you to perform bulk actions on all emails in a folder (a full page of 35 at a time), such as move all from, delete all from, mark this folder as read, and empty this folder.
