Microsoft reopened the Xbox Design Lab just a few weeks ago after months of downtime, and already, brand-new Xbox controller options have been made available on the platform. Today, the company unveiled the Xbox Wireless Controller – Ninja Gaiden 4 and the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – Ninja Gaiden 4 with unique manga print-inspired top cases. The double drop is celebrating the upcoming PlatinumGames-developed entry into the classic action series.
Being an Xbox Design Lab release, users are able to customize the controllers even further within the web store. This includes multiple button styles that fit the Ninja Gaiden 4 color scheme, optional metallic triggers and D-pad, and rubberized side and back grips
"These designs have something for veterans and newcomers alike, featuring both Ryu Hayabusa’s legendary Red Dragon Katana and new protagonist Yakumo’s blue handled katana," says Xbox Accessories Product Marketing Manager Mekias Bekalu. "Within the manga print-inspired top case, you’ll also find Yakumo’s striking Oni mask."
Like with all Xbox Wireless Controllers from Microsoft, these can be used across Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles, as well as on PCs and mobile devices, as well as for cloud play. A dedicated share button is also present in the middle of the controller to quickly take screenshots or videos in games to share later.
Meanwhile, the Elite Series 2 version of this release touts the same upgraded features, like the hair trigger locks, wrap-around rubberized grips, and adjustable-tension thumbsticks. It also comes with customizable back paddles and a button profile selector.
The Xbox Wireless Controller – Ninja Gaiden 4 starts at $94.98, while the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – Ninja Gaiden 4 costs $184.98 before additional customization costs, with both options available via the Xbox Design Lab now.
