Nokia changes Twitter and Facebook colors to green; is it teasing Android?

Ahead of its World Mobile Congress press conference on February 24th, Nokia has done something rather odd; it has changed the color of its official Facebook and Twitter accounts to green.

The changes to the Twitter and Facebook pages were explained as a "teaser of things to come" by a spokesperson to CNet. That"s the biggest clue yet that the company is planning to release a smartphone that will run on Google"s Android OS. Rumors about the phone, code named Normandy, have been hitting the Internet for months.

The phone, which may be called the Nokia X when it is officially announced, is supposed to use a heavily modified version of Android with a user interface that more closely resembles the one used by Nokia"s many Windows Phone products. It"s also supposed to be a budget phone where Nokia has had success with its Asha and Lumia 520/521 phones.

We suspect the Twitter and Facebook color teasers are just the beginning of Nokia"s campaign for its Android phone.
