Another update has hit NVIDIA"s cloud gaming service GeForce NOW, keeping up its Thursday schedule. The latest update has its usual selection of games with official support in the program. However, a major platform expansion is also here alongside them, finally letting Linux users jump in with a native application.
Aimed at machines with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS or later, the official GeForce NOW app for Linux lets users skip the browser or third-party options and get the best performance from the service. Neowin"s own Paul Hill managed to get his hands on the new beta release ahead of time and gave a deep dive into how it performed on his system. Read about his full experience over here.
Coming back to the games, a whole lot of indie titles are a part of the latest additions to the supported list. This includes Cairn, The Midnight Walkers, and Half Sword. Even InXile Entertainment"s Bard"s Tale franchise has gained support with the latest update.
Here are the latest games that received GeForce NOW support this week:
- The Midnight Walkers (New release on Steam, Jan. 28, GeForce RTX 5080-ready)
- Cairn (New release on Steam, Jan. 29, GeForce RTX 5080-ready)
- Prototype (New release on Ubisoft Connect, Jan. 29)
- Prototype 2 (New release on Ubisoft Connect, Jan. 29)
- Warhammer 40,000: SPACE MARINE 2 (New release on Xbox, available on Game Pass, Jan. 29, GeForce RTX 5080-ready)
- Half Sword (New release on Steam, Jan.30, GeForce RTX 5080-ready)
- Vampires: Bloodlord Rising (New release on Steam, Jan. 30, GeForce RTX 5080-ready)
- The Bard’s Tale Trilogy (Steam and Xbox, available on Game Pass)
- The Bard’s Tale IV: Director’s Cut (Steam and Xbox, available on Game Pass)
- Total War: Three Kingdoms (Epic Games Store)
As always, keep in mind that, unlike subscription services like Game Pass or EA Play, a copy of a game must be owned by the GeForce NOW member (or at least have a license via PC Game Pass) to start playing via NVIDIA"s cloud servers. There is also a limit to how many hours subscribers can use the service per month.
