Oxenfree is now free to claim on GOG

This holiday season is turning out to be rather felicitous for gamers. Alongside its massive Winter Sale offering a boatload of deals on some of the most popular games of the year, the GOG store is also giving away a DRM-free copy of Oxenfree for, well, free.

The site was offering a copy of Grim Fandango Remastered for free last week and while that deal has ended, Oxenfree has taken its place. The 2016 side-scroller is a thriller that deals with supernatural and horror themes and boasts a rather well-crafted story that has been widely praised by critics. It currently has an impressive 93% positive user rating on Steam.

The deal is only available for a little more than a day so if you"re looking to try it out, be sure to grab it quickly as it normally costs $19.99.

Fans of the horror genre might also appreciate the Humble Store, which is currently giving away "Layers of Fear" for free. If something a bit more stealthy and action-packed is up your alley, Ubisoft is also giving away Assassin"s Creed IV: Black Flag for a grand total of nothing.
