Players already being banned in Guild Wars 2

Guild Wars 2 has been officially live for just a few days, but the ban hammer has already been used by developer ArenaNet. The developer announced this week that it has decided to ban an unnamed number of players for using an exploit that has been found in the fantasy MMO sequel.

In a post on Reddit, ArenaNet said they are willing to give some players a second chance with this particular issue and will offer to reduce the ban to a 72 hour suspension. The post states:

Should those involved want to accept this offer of reinstatement, contact us on our support website--support.guildwars2.com—and submit a ticket through the "Ask a Question" tab. Please use the subject heading of "Karma Weapons Exploit Appeal", then confirm in the body of your ticket that you will delete any items/currency that you gained from the exploit. You should submit only one ticket.

ArenaNet says they will put in the 72 hour suspension after that ticket is done. If a person who put in a support ticket does not delete any of its in-game items and currency it has gained by using this exploit during this time period, the suspension will become a permanent ban from Guild Wars 2.
