Pornhub extends an offer to purchase Vine

Yesterday, Vine announced that it would be calling it quits and killing its mobile apps. Today, an unexpected party threw its hat into the ring and has offered to purchase the Twitter-owned video sharing service.

According to CNET, Pornhub extended an offer to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey via a letter, expressing interest in wanting to purchase the short-form video sharing service.

"We figure since Twitter has dropped (Vine) and is having significant layoffs, that you and your stakeholders could benefit from a cash infusion from the sale of Vine. Not to mention we would be saving Vine gems like "Damn Daniel," "Awkward Puppets" and many more."

While these types of deals tend to happen behind closed doors, PornHub was very upfront and even shared the letter sent to Dorsey with publication CNET. In the excerpt above, the company is clearly rubbing salt in Twitter"s wounds with the mention of layoffs and the need for a cash infusion.

If purchased, Pornhub has promised to "restore Vine to its NSFW glory", which most likely means that it will not be as strict in policing adult content and could even offer pornography on the service.
